My name is AJ. I was raised in Marin County, California. I shoot photos on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, write when I’ve got something to say, and talk a whole lot of video games. When I’m not holding a controller, I’m hanging out with my bearded dragon.

Work started early for me. I’ve bounced around a lot of jobs. Retail came first, at 16. Restaurants after that. My first restaurant job was washing dishes. My last one, I was the manager.

Then I did drywall around the Bay Area with my childhood friend... that was 2015. Then came playgrounds. Eight years as a project manager building them, longest job I ever had. I wore a lot of hats there... estimating, bids, whatever needed doing. After that I moved to a structural engineering company, working on estimates and helping with marketing and advertising. And now I’m focused on recovery and working on this project of mine when my body lets me.

Sonder (n.) — the realization that every stranger passing by has a life as vivid and complex as your own. That’s what this site is: one of those lives, out in the open.
